The jerseys that will be worn by the New York Knicks during the 2012-13 NBA season couldn't be anymore smooth. Gone is the black stripe inked along the side of the uniforms, and it's all been replaced by the classic blue, orange and white uniforms worn by the Knicks during the early 1970s.
In an unveiling yesterday, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe and Walt Frazier, two of the best to ever style that traditional look for New York, were on hand for the ceremony. In addition to the retro-inspired theme, the Knicks also mimicked the Cleveland Cavaliers by including a hidden message inside the jersey.

There are a few differences between the jerseys the Knicks will wear in 2012-13 and the ones they rocked while winning NBA championships in 1970 and 1973. While the black is gone, it has been replaced with light gray that is hardly noticeable except from up close. Also, the Knicks copied the Cavaliers, who have "All for one. One for all." stamped on the inside collars of their jerseys. The Knicks' hidden message reads "Once a Knick, always a Knick."
So I suppose Jeremy Lin will always be a Knick then afterall. Nice to hear the two sides reconciled on all that I guess.
