People still making jokes about Kobe Bryant’s rape case

Kobe Bryant has come a long way trying to move past his infamous incident in 2003 where he was accused of raping a woman in a Colorado hotel room. For the most part, he’s done a good job, but that doesn’t mean there won’t still be jokes about it.

The latest of these jokes came from the WWE of all places. During a match, a manager named Abraham Washington said one of his wrestlers was “like Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado… he’s unstoppable.”

Washington reportedly felt horrible after making the remark saying he got caught up in the moment. He later apologized on Twitter, saying his comments were “inappropriate and insensitive.”

A representative for the WWE issued a formal statement.

"[Washington] made an inappropriate comment and WWE immediately apologized." The rep adds, "WWE has taken appropriate action in the matter."

The “appropriate action” isn’t known at this time but Washington seems genuinely sorry for his comments so I imagine it won’t be too severe.

For Kobe Bryant, I imagine he hears the jokes all the time and is able to brush them off like it’s nothing. There’s nothing that heckling fans won’t say. If he gets wind of this all the way over in London, it will just be one more thing to shrug off and keep playing.
