Washington Wizards center JaVale McGee has the talent to be a good player in the NBA. He’s also a 24-year old kid whose head seems to be a little elsewhere at times. Those lapses produce hilarious results for the rest of us, but it’s more faceplam than funny in Washington.
And with that I give you the latest funny-but-not-funny McGee moment.
Coach Randy Wittman, take it away:
“What led to the goaltend? What was he supposed to be doing? See, that’s the thing people don’t understand and it’s hard to explain, OK? What his job in the pick is, is not to let the guard get to the rim. Goaltending? That had nothing to do with it. OK? Nothing to do with it.”
In basketball terms, McGee played that pick-and-roll about as poorly as you could play it, which is bad. But then it led to this video, which is good. Unless you are a member of the Wizards staff or a Wizards fan, then its bad. But in a tough season, it’s something that can put a smile on your face, which is good. And because this is JaVale McGee, you can probably expect more of this in the future.
That’s bad.
