Recapping all the NBA trade deadline action

The NBA’s trade deadline has come and gone and it was the year of the blockbuster!

Josh Smith is now a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, Kevin Garnett joins the Los Angeles Clippers and Dwight Howard is headed to the Brooklyn Nets.

I know, I know, none of those things happened. We were teased with rumors all over the place leading up to the Thursday’s deadline, but it looks like no teams were able to pull the trigger on the big-name trades.

We did see a few comparatively insignificant trades though.

The Boston Celtics traded Leandro Barbosa and Jason Collins to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Crawford.

The Miami Heat traded Dexter Pittman and a second-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies for a trade exception.

The Phoenix Suns traded Sebastian Telfair to the Toronto Raptors for Hamed Haddadi.

The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Eric Maynor to the Portland Trail Blazers for a trade exception and the draft rights to Giorgio Printezis.

One of the bigger deals of the day sent J.J. Redick, Ish Smith and Gustavo Ayon to the Milwaukee Bucks for Doron Lamb, Tobias Harris and Beno Udrih. Orlando also traded Josh McRoberts to the Charlotte Bobcats for Hakim Warrick.

The Houston Rockets were busy getting their trades done early. On Wednesday, the Rockets got Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Toney Douglas. The Rockets also swapped Marcus Morris for a second-round pick with Phoenix, reuniting him with his twin brother and former University of Kansas teammate, Markieff.

There’s a recap of all your NBA trading action. Not too much to write home about. Time to buckle in and start looking forward to the playoffs!
