Nuggets tickets up by 144% in 2014

A year after a disappointing 36-46 season, the Denver Nuggets will look to rebound in 2014-15. The first year under head coach Brian Shaw did not end well, though injuries played a large part in the underwhelming play. With players like Danilo Gallinari, J.J Hickson, JaVale McGee and Nate Robinson healthy, the rotation depth should […]

Give the young guys a shot

When the Orlando Magic traded the rights to Dario Saric to the Philadelphia 76ers for the rights to Elfrid Payton during the 2014 NBA Draft, I would have needed Indiana Jones to lead me through that maze of Magic fan boos. All of my friends and colleagues who follow the Magic, they all deployed the […]

Five things fans get out of new TV deal

The NBA agreed to a new television deal which will nearly triple the television rights coming into the league starting with the 2017 season. Ostensibly, there are very few changes. Games will be on ESPN and TNT still. The nights will change very little too. TNT may get a few off-Thursday nights and the schedule […]

Rick Carlisle’s ripping of Chandler Parsons’ weight was unnecessary and stupid

Oftentimes in the NBA, players make dumb and controversial statements. Across all professional sports, that is the case and when players do say things that are ill-advised, coaches and executives are the people that have to backtrack those remarks and save face. Rarely, if ever, is it the coach saying something stupid, especially about a player. […]

Kevin Durant, other stars want max contract abolished

In 1997, Michael Jordan signed a mega contract. Sure, it was only two years, but a two-year $63.3 million contract paid Jordan more in one year than he had made with the Bulls his previous nine seasons in the NBA combined. This was a monster contract now, and it was a monster contract at the […]

LeBron still thinks he plays for the Heat

After leaving the Cavs to go to the Heat only to see himself go back to Cleveland, it might be a bit confusing for LeBron James to keep his teams straight. That has to explain it because in a preseason game against his former team the Heat, James set a pick for his former teammate, […]

Hawks flying blind

There is nothing wrong with average, is there? A lot of people believe being average is a good thing. After all, it is better to be average than below it. Stop asking yourself, “where is he going with this?” I am getting there. Ironically, the Atlanta Hawks aren’t going anywhere. Atlanta has been a team lost in space, […]

A preview of the top 5 most expensive games for Wizards tickets

The Washington Wizards made a huge leap in 2013-14, as they got out of the first round of the playoffs and even gave the top-seeded Indiana Pacers something to think about in round two. This year, they are gunning for it all. Veteran swing man Paul Pierce brings a much-needed veteran presence, while the team retained […]

Somehow, J.R. Smith is gaining the trust of the Knicks’ new coaching staff

When one thinks of J.R. Smith as a basketball player, they might think of his questionable shot selection, his explosive scoring ability, or his propensity to get into on-court skirmishes. But being a responsible team leader? That is not normally an attribute associated to Smith. Well, according to new Knicks coach Derek Fisher, that is exactly what […]

James Harden recruiting Kevin Durant?

Remember how excited everyone was for Greg Oden to enter the NBA? That was it. He was going to be the next big . . . big. He had all the tangibles. He had all the intangibles. Oden was going to enter a guard-dominated league and refresh us with a traditional presence of a true center. […]

Doc Rivers trades game date for Kings tickets

Doc Rivers is a master motivator. He devilishly asked his Celtics to give him $100 while they were playing at Staples Center during the 2010 season. He then hid the money inside the visitor’s locker room and said they would get the money back when the team returned to Los Angeles for the NBA Finals. […]

Thunder investing heavily in youth as window closes

Championship windows are notoriously fickle. Not every team gets to be the Spurs and sit through a decade-long window of championship contention with a never-ending, revolving door of great players that fit a role and stars who are completely selfless. Those just do not exist everywhere — and they all seem to be in San […]
