The Bobcats, yes the Bobcats, think Playoffs

Mention the Charlotte Bobcats and you are likely still to get some odd stares. Because of some historically bad seasons the past three years, the Bobcats have become synonymous with the ultimate in NBA incompetence.  Worse, the Bobcats flubbed their high lottery picks and seemingly keeping them in the bottom of the league. A few […]

Kyle Lowry: I didn’t want to be a backup

“I struggled to prove that I belonged. My first couple years in the NBA, my fear was that I was going to go to the D-League – and maybe never get back to the NBA. I was picked 24th and that’s not the cushion that a lottery pick gets in the NBA. You get a few chances, and then you’re done. Then you’re just a label, never to be a frontline guy.

But I didn’t want to be a backup. I hated that label. I did not want to be a backup in this league. I wasn’t going to settle for it, and I think it rubbed people the wrong way. But I didn’t want to be labeled as a journeyman, or a guy who has the talent, but just can’t get it together. I wanted the label of a guy who’s a winner. That’s the most important label you can have in this league.”

CC Video of the Day: Lillard wants to go platinum with new rap album

Year after year and season after season, there always seems an NBA player will announce he is working on a new career — rap artist. From Shaq, Allen Iverson, Tony Parker to Stephen Jackson, all have attempted to have a rap career outside of basketball and have all had underwhelming results. Well, except Jackson. He […]

In the first game they officially played with Phil Jackson as their team president, the Knicks beat the Pacers. Pretty good start for P-Jax’s tenure.

With win over Pacers, Knicks’ streak improves to seven in a row as they look towards playoff push

Phil Jackson’s entire NBA career has been defined by winning, as noted by his 11 combined NBA championships as head coach of the Jordan Bulls and Shaq/Kobe Lakers. Now, as he is a member of the Knicks’ front office, he will look to bring that success to the Big Apple, and his team got off […]

Thinking of buying the Bucks? Think again

The Milwaukee Bucks have the lowest franchise value in the NBA. Their stadium is one of the oldest in the league and cannot pull in revenue streams to make the team competitive. The market is not the best in the NBA. And, oh yeah, they have the worst record in the NBA. To say the […]

Mark Cuban says Lakers will never be the same

“Jerry Buss was the Lakers, so I don’t know if the Lakers will ever be the Lakers. I don’t think there was a smarter owner in the history of the NBA than Jerry Buss, so that’s tough to replace.

I don’t think people realize just how good of an owner Jerry was. I looked up to him a lot. Absolutely. So I don’t know if the Lakers will ever be the Lakers.

He just understood fans, entertainment, players, how to balance all of it together, how to deal with the NBA, when to listen to (ex-NBA commissioner) David (Stern) and when to ignore him and when to tell him what to do. He had that breath of skills that every time I spoke to him — usually I’m used to doing to the talking, just force of habit.

But he’s one of the few people that when we sat down I did all the listening. So I don’t think there’s any question he’s by far the best owner in the history of the NBA. No exception.”

CC Video of the day: Splitter’s dad can dunk

Who knew Spurs’ Tiago Splitter’s dad can get up? While visiting his son in San Antonio, it seems Splitter’s dad took to the team’s practice court and proved that at 50-years old, age is nothing but a number as he showed off he still has hops and can throw it down. And not only will […]

Phil Jackson says Melo will in New York for years to come, even though he’s been rumored to leave in free agency

Phil Jackson: Carmelo Anthony isn’t leaving the Knicks when he becomes a free agent

One of the more intriguing off-court stories in the NBA this season has been the New York Knicks’ strange and eventually successful wooing of former Bulls and Lakers head coach Phil Jackson–who has won titles with both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant–out of retirement and into New York’s front office. Finally, a few days ago, […]

J.J. Redick’s guide to perfect March Madness Bracket

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNA5ruxEdU8

Clippers guard J.J. Redick is currently out with a back injury which should give him plenty of time to think about his NCAA Tournament brackets. Redick will probably be riding his Duke Blue Devils all the way to the national championship game. And he would probably have a good chance at winning.

Redick though is sharing the wealth. In this video from Funny or Die, Redick explains how to build the perfect bracket.

Who do you have winning in your perfect bracket?

LeBron James scores 25 in first quarter in Heat win

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NvuxcHIGHU

For 12 minutes, LeBron James was on Wilt Chamberlain’s incredible pace. He obviously did not keep it up or else the Internet would probably be shut down.

What James did do is score 25 of his 43 points in the first quarter, making 10 of his 11 shots and five of his six 3-poitners. The Heat needed every single one of those points to beat the Kyrie Irving-less Cavaliers 100-96 at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night.

CC Video of the day: Fight, fight, fight!

The Jazz are one of the worst teams in the NBA while the Rockets are among the best. So it goes without saying that maybe some frustrations mounted up for Utah’s John Lucas III because he and Rocket’s Francisco Garcia squared off and began to fight at the end of the game. [follow]

Mark Cuban: Tanking not effective

There is concern in NBA circles about the possibility and reality of tanking. That is, teams somewhat purposefully trying to lose to get better draft positioning. Especially when you take a look at this year’s Draft with all the potential stars that appear to be available. Mark Cuban has become a de facto spokesman for […]
