The NBA Offseason Team Awards

With the majority of the moves from the NBA offseason all wrapped up, I’ve decided to give some sort of award to all 30 teams. We will go in A-B-C order. Atlanta Hawks  Best Sequel Award (or so they hope)  The problem with going for sequels is the second movie typically isn’t as good as […]

NBA Free Agency: Day 1 Report

That was a lot to take in. The first full day of NBA free agency was a 24-hour festival of pure lunacy. Here’s a look back at some of the transactions. LOLakers  Ok, I’m not starting off with non moves, and as a New York Knicks fan, I shouldn’t laugh at other teams, but this […]

The Washington Wizards Made The Toronto Raptors Look Bad. They Also Remade Themselves.

The Washington Wizards didn’t make an adjustment in the first round of the NBA playoffs; they created an entirely new identity. During the regular season, all four of their lineups that saw over 100 minutes featured two big men in the group of Nene Hilario, Marcin Gortat, Kris Humphries, and Kevin Seraphin. Washington’s starting unit […]

Watch: Paul Pierce nails three to put Wizards up 3-0 in series

Paul Pierce averaged the least amount of points in his career with the Washington Wizards but without him they would likely not have the lead they have in this series against the Raptors and almost certainly would not have the momentum. Pierce averaged 11.9 ppg during the season and has increased that to 16.0 ppg […]

Raptors-Wizards: The Taming of Valanciunas, By Gortat and Nene

The Washington Wizards have done a lot of things right during their two-game obliteration of the Toronto Raptors. John Wall has been a monster in transition, picking apart Toronto’s defense en route to averaging 12.5 assists per game. With some beefy minutes totals, Otto Porter has emerged as a legitimate NBA player. Bradley Beal shook […]

The Top 10 Storylines Of The 2015 NBA Playoffs

The 1994 Seattle Supersonics. The 2012 Chicago Bulls. The 2007 Dallas Mavericks. These and other “winter champions” are not remembered for the best of reasons. Greatness over 82 games and greatness in an American spring are two very different things. The playoffs define professional basketball legacies and reputations. Winning 11 straight Big 12 titles can […]

Watch: Toronto’s James Johnson teaches his kid how to beat box

When we watch NBA games sometimes we forget that these great players are just as human as we are. Toronto Raptors forward James Johnson posted this video to his instagram today and it is a good reminder that these guys aren’t just super heroes on TV but do a lot of the same stuff we […]

Watch Raptors’ Valanciunas go 0-2 at the rim… of a paper cup

It just wasn’t his day from the field. Raptors’ Jonas Valanciunas didn’t have his shooting stroke with him recently as the big man missed point blank two shot attempts with this mouth piece at a paper cup. Yeah, that’s right, Jonas missed the rim of a cup (which was right in his face) as he […]

DeRozan forgot Bulls’ Noah doesn’t play for Toronto

Hey DeMar, that guys, he’s not on your team. Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan found himself trapped defensively by two Bulls defenders. So what will he ever do? Obviously he needs to find an open RAPTORS TEAMMATE for himself, so who did he find? Oh just the Bulls’ Joakim Noah on the sidelines, in his shooting shirt, […]

Kawhi Leonard puts Toronto’s Valanciunas on a poster

At 7’0″, 255 pounds, you would think the Raptors’ Jonas Valanciunas would intimidate anyone who dared to drive to the rim. I mean look what he did to the Cleveland Cavs’ LeBron James! But even though Jonas slammed to the court LeBron, didn’t intimidate Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard as he flew right at the big man and […]

OKC to debut new alternative uniforms vs. Toronto

The OKC Thunder will be debuting a new alternate uniform when they play the Raptors next Sunday. It is primarily all white, short sleeved, with the players’ last names on the back, but below the player’s number. It also has a blue trim around the neck. A photo posted by Oklahoma City Thunder (@okcthunder) on […]

Raptors’ DeRozan comes up a wee bit short on 360 dunk attempt

Let this be a lesson for you kids, showboating can be fun so long as you don’t fall right on your face in front of thousands of fans in Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan found himself alone on the fast break when he went for a 360 dunk versus […]

Hansbrough and Ezeli have a shoving contest

Ok, so maybe they didn’t have an all-out, drag out fight but the Raptors’ Tyler Hansbrough and the Warriors’ Festus Ezeli got into a small skirmish leading to Hansbrough being tossed. And after you see what “Psycho T” did after taking a shove from Festus, you’ll see why he got tossed as well as Ezeli.
