The Knicks, Timberwolves and Jazz will be search for new coaches now that the regular season has officially ended. The Knicks announced they were relieving Mike Woodson of his coaching duties. Rick Adelman announced his retirement as head coach of the Timberwolves. And the Jazz announced they would not be renewing Tyrone Corbin’s contract. All […]

Raptors, Nets get testy in Game 1

So who had the Raptors and Nets providing the most newspaper and tabloid fodder through the first weekend of the NBA Playoffs? Sure, Golden State and Los Angeles raised their voices and kindled their budding rivalry, but there were few in-game moments of bravado and showmanship that showed up the Raptors and Nets battle. Toronto […]

Dame good win

Of all people it was Joel Freeland who had to take and make the critical free throws to put this one away. But make no mistake about it, at the end of regulation and overtime it was all Damian Lillard. Lillard has made his name throughout the season as a clutch artist. He was someone […]

Wizards stun Bulls in Game 1

The Bulls were supposed to be the physical ones. They were the ones who were supposed to dictate tempo and use their experience to weather the inexperienced Wizards down. Maybe that comes as this series progresses. For now, Washington does not care. Nene bulldozed through Joakim Noah early and then picked apart the interior defense […]

Chandler Parsons put on a little weight this summer. Is Rick Carlisle unhappy about this?

Too hot to handle, with Big Al injury

The Bobcats were never afraid and never backed down. They played the Heat blow for blow, including a run early in the second half that tied the game and made it look like they would give the Heat all they could handle. Then, the floodgates opened. Al Jefferson’s injury and ineffectiveness became too much for […]

Tony Parker magnifique in fourth quarter run

The Mavericks seemed poised for an upset. They got a stellar performance from their bench and had finally solved their Spurs bugaboo. Then the 10-point lead they had built midway through the fourth quarter, crumbled and disappeared in a matter of moments. San Antonio’s 15-0 run in the fourth quarter put Dallas’ upset dreams away […]

Thunder make their mark

The Thunder coasted for the first half, hung on for the second and took down a Game One victory with only the slightest bit of warning from the Grizzlies. Oklahoma City built as much as a 25-point lead in the first half and held a 20-point lead at halftime. It looked easy for Kevin Durant […]

Hawks spring trap on Pacers

The Hawks never left any doubt. They were unafraid and never backed down. Seeding did not matter. The regular season did not matter. Atlanta made the Playoffs and proved the team is here to stay. The Pacers know that now. Jeff Teague stepped up in the Playoffs once again, slicing up Indiana’s once vaunted defense […]

A foul taste for the Clippers

Blake Griffin was on the bench having fouled out after playing just 19 minutes. Chris Paul thought he was fouled as the ball trickled off his hands and out of bounds. Meanwhile, the Warriors were going to the line and missing their free throws before Darren Collison stepped out of bounds trying to corral a […]
